- Messages you send us (support emails, press inquiries, pitch submissions).
Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data — device model, iOS version, language, crash logs, and in-game events (e.g., "level 3 completed") so we can fix bugs and make the games better.
- Approximate location — derived from IP address (country/region only). We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Cookies & similar tech — only on our website, only the strictly necessary kind. No third-party advertising cookies.
03How we use it
We use your information to:
- Run, maintain, and improve the Services;
- Send you the things you asked for (newsletter, launch notifications);
- Respond to support requests and feedback;
- Detect and prevent fraud, cheating, or abuse;
- Comply with our legal obligations.
Our legal basis for processing is, depending on the context, your consent, our legitimate interests in running a games studio, or contractual necessity.
04Sharing & third parties
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Services, under strict confidentiality. Current providers include:
- Apple — App Store distribution, TestFlight, and Game Center (governed by Apple's privacy policy).
- Email/newsletter provider — to deliver mailing-list emails you've opted into.
- Analytics & crash reporting — privacy-respecting, aggregated, no advertising identifiers.
- Cloud hosting — for our website and game backends.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers for targeted advertising. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety.
05iMessage & Rewindz
Rewindz includes an iMessage extension that lets you send scrambled audio clips to your friends. Here's how that works:
- Audio is recorded locally on your device.
- Scrambling happens on-device; the scrambled clip is attached to your iMessage and sent through Apple's iMessage service, not ours.
- Blue Nova does not receive, store, or listen to your voice clips.
- We may receive anonymous counts (e.g., "X clips were sent today") to understand feature usage. No content, no identities.
06Children
Our games are designed for general audiences and are safe for younger players. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region) without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email hello@bluenova-studios.com and we'll delete it.
07Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
